Player Development/Promotions Assistant
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Must be 18 years of age with a High School Diploma, a GED or equivalent experience with the following experience and abilities;
- At least one year of Casino Marketing, VIP Services, Front Desk, or Guest Relations experience preferred.
- Must have strong computer software skills and the ability to quickly learn new programs such as the casino and hotel system.
- Must possess a customer service or telemarketing background.
- Marketing, sales, or promotions experience is highly desired.
SUMMARY
This position will provide support and administrative assistance for Player Development and the Promotions Departments, including participation in weekly casino promotions, data entry, booking hotel reservations, coordinating telephone and email assistance, handling of daily reports, processing comp paperwork, and VIP itinerary creation and management.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assist with all daily departmental duties pertaining to the Player Development/Promotions department, including assistance with event prize drawings, and sharing in the responsibility of emceeing events.
- Enthusiastically assist with planning and executing weekly casino promotions. Ensuring guests are greeted, properly registered for events, and provided with proper details on events.
- Processing of winner/event paperwork for weekly casino promotions and special events, adherence to detail in protecting guest information and confidentiality.
- Ensuring the protection of company assets during the performance of casino promotions.
- Assist with requests for booking: lodging, restaurant reservations, golf, spa, promotions and special events and special needs as directed by the Player Development Hosts and Management.
- Make casino player reservations or access player accounts to provide or record information.
- Maintain Player Development/Promotions departmental daily/weekly reports.
- Maintain the Player Development network folder. Maintain player files for host program.
- Responsible at times for staffing the Host telephone line to answer and direct any calls to the proper Player Development Host and/or departments.
- Determine best methods to resolve problems following company policies and Host program guidelines.
- Coordinates problem resolution for guest issues with the Player Development Hosts/Management.
- Report guest problems and dissatisfactions through the proper departmental channels.
- Receive, send and/or sort mail and forward to appropriate party.
- Remain up to date on all company promotions and services.
- Willingness to cross-train and provide support in related areas of operations.
- Will need to make trips to the GT Resort and/or the Leelanau Sands when assisting in duties.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Must respond to supervisory guidance and assignments and accept constructive criticisms and additional training in order to learn new, updated information.
- The needs for quickness and ease of adjustment to the work environment and flexibility to change are essential in this position.
- Must genuinely enjoy working with people and make each guest feel special.
- An outgoing personality is essential and cannot be shy.
DRIVING REQUIREMENTS
Must have a valid Michigan Driver's License and be insurable by the Tribe's insurance.

EQUIPMENT TO BE USED
Multi-line phone, computer, software programs including Synkros, LMS and MS Office, fax, scanner, copier, printer, and others.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods of time and occasionally bend, kneel, or stretch. May be required to lift up to 50lbs. Repetitive typing on a keyboard will be required. Normal or corrected to normal sight and hearing are required to sufficiently complete job duties. Must be able to drive a car.
TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS
Must be able to effectively handle stressful and compromising situations while remaining focused and professional. Must be able to deal with difficult people or situations without losing perspective.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to handle being under constant surveillance. Work is performed in an office setting as well as the casino floor. Evenings, weekends, and holidays dependent on PD/Promotions calendars. Will be required to travel between properties.
COMMENTS
Native American and Tribal Preference will apply. Must be able to pass a background investigation and a drug and alcohol urinalysis as a condition of employment. Must be able to work flexible hours and to take on additional responsibilities when asked. Must adhere to company policies regarding strict confidentiality.
