An Applied Associate's degree in accounting and one year of gaming experience is preferred. Combinations of education and experience may be considered

Accountant Auditor I is responsible for accurately performing daily SDS audits in compliance with all regulations, policies and procedures in order to produce accurate monthly and annual financial statements.

Performs the slot machine audit using the slot audit checklist.
Record and reconcile progressive meters on a daily basis.
Ensures all meter records are accurate by performing periodic machine audits to verify validity of machine meters.
Compare computer generated slot reports to actual cash drop.
Ensures all jackpots, fills, and voids are traced to the cage paperwork and have all the required information and are legitimate.
Trouble shoots unusual slot activity such as high and low hold percentages, excess jackpots, documents and reports findings to Accounting Manager.
Update logs with slot machine changes, conversions, additions, removals and warehousing.
Ensures all issues with the slot system are resolved in a timely manner and reports issues to Accounting Manager and Accounting Manager.
Ensures all adjustments to the slot reports are corrected and recorded in a timely manner with the proper documentation.
Maintain and provide statistical slot performance reports to Accounting Manager.
Maintain and provide current and statistical slot machine information that includes daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, which is reconciled to daily and monthly financial reports
Prepare any additional slot machine reports as required.
Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner.
Works with co-workers, Accounting Manager, and Controller to meet required deadlines
Works with internal and external auditors to verify transactions and financial information.
Maintain strict security and confidence of all records and reports of the Accounting Department.
Willingness to cross-train and provide support in related areas of operations.
Other duties as assigned by Manager.

Attention to detail and accuracy is essential as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks. Must be able to work independently and have excellent organizational skills. Experience in the following computer programs is required: CMP, SDS, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access and Microsoft Outlook. Experience in the accounting software Infinium is preferred. Knowledge of GTR&C internal accounting control procedures is required. Must be able to communicate and work well with other employees and department managers. Must have the ability to communicate and present ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and written.



Desktop computer, copier, fax machine, multi-line phone system, Ten-key adding machine, and other general office equipment.

Must have a valid, Michigan driver's license and be insurable by the Tribe.

May be required to lift up to 30lbs.occasionally. May also be required to reach, bend, stretch, kneel, crawl, lift and carry on occasion. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. Eye strain may occur due to the hours spent using a computer.

Must be able to effectively handle stressful and compromising situations while remaining focused and professional. Must be able to deal with difficult people without losing perspective. Must be able to work productively under strict time restraints with variable deadlines.

Work is performed in a non-smoking office setting and may require minimal time on the smoking gaming room floor. Candidate must be willing to work alternative schedules, holidays, and weekends if required for the needs of the organization. Some local and out of town travel may be required for further training and/or for the needs of the position. Traveling between facilities of up to 62 miles round trip may be required. May be required to work at either casino based on the needs of the organization.

Native American and Tribal Preference will apply. Must be able to pass a background investigation and a drug and alcohol urinalysis as a condition of employment. Must be able to work flexible hours and to take on additional responsibilities when asked. Must adhere to company policies regarding strict confidentiality.
